The brand's founding family divested their minority stake in December 2025 to a consortium of investors, prominently led by Rams Global, and including Mathias Facchini of Swinger International and Giulio Gallazzi via SRI Group. This transaction built upon an earlier development in July 2021, when L Catterton, a private equity firm with substantial holdings in other fashion brands such as Ganni and A.P.C., secured a majority stake in Etro, which it continues to hold. Fabrizio Cardinali, appointed in 2021 following L Catterton's acquisition, continues to serve as the brand's CEO.
