Amazon Extends Partnership with ACM Awards for Three More Years

The world of country music is set to remain in the spotlight on Amazon’s Prime Video platform as the company renews its deal with the Academy of Country Music Awards. This agreement will keep the prestigious awards show streaming exclusively on Prime Video until 2028. The collaboration, which also involves Dick Clark Productions (DCP), aims to enhance global engagement and support artists within the genre. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, praised the partnership's success, highlighting the international live-streaming capabilities that reached over 240 countries during the most recent ceremony.

This renewed commitment stems from a long-standing relationship between the Academy of Country Music and Amazon. Established in 1966, the Academy of Country Music Awards is the longest-running awards show dedicated to country music. In 2022, it made history by becoming the first major awards show to be exclusively livestreamed on Prime Video. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the 60th anniversary celebration was held at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, drawing an extensive international audience. Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, emphasized how Amazon's various platforms create unique opportunities for artists and fans alike.

Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, expressed excitement about continuing the partnership through 2028. He noted that the Academy of Country Music Awards not only made history in 2022 but also continues to innovate, offering unparalleled reach and connecting country music enthusiasts worldwide.
