Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the film adaptation rights for Kirsty Greenwood's forthcoming novel, 'Romantic Hero'. This marks a significant move for Jennifer Salke's recently launched production company, Sullivan Street, as its inaugural acquisition. Salke, a former head of Amazon MGM, is set to produce the movie alongside Matt Milam, who oversees film and television for her new venture.

The adaptation also sees the involvement of Peter Chiarelli, known for co-writing 'Crazy Rich Asians' and 'The Proposal,' who will pen the screenplay. Greenwood's novel, described as a 'speculative romantic comedy,' tells the story of a romance novelist grappling with writer's block when a character from her books materializes, determined to alter his destiny and find his own happy ending. Greenwood, a former book editor from England, has found success in this genre, with her previous work, 'The Love of My Afterlife,' having been a Good Morning America Book Club selection.

Jennifer Salke's leadership at Amazon MGM Studios saw the release of numerous successful films and television series, including 'The Boys,' 'Fallout,' and 'Project Hail Mary.' Since transitioning to production, she has been actively involved in projects such as 'Honeymoon with Harry,' featuring Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal, and a sequel to the romantic comedy 'Red White and Royal Blue.'

The acquisition of 'Romantic Hero' signifies an exciting new chapter for Salke and Amazon MGM, promising to bring another captivating story to the screen. This collaboration highlights the dynamic landscape of modern storytelling, where imaginative narratives find new life across different media. It underscores a commitment to embracing unique voices and innovative concepts in the entertainment industry, aiming to deliver engaging and uplifting content to a global audience.
