Cameron Picton, the acclaimed bassist, co-vocalist, and co-songwriter from the renowned band Black Midi, is initiating a captivating new musical venture. His latest project, aptly named My New Band Believe, is poised to captivate audiences with their self-titled debut album, scheduled for release on April 10 through Rough Trade. As a precursor to the album, My New Band Believe has unveiled their debut single, “Numerology.” This track, distinct from the album’s main lineup, will be a special addition, presented as a bonus 10-inch record with exclusive editions of the LP. The album itself features a stellar cast of musicians, including the likes of Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble, and Andrew Cheetham, promising a rich and diverse sonic experience. The tracklist for the debut album includes intriguing titles such as “Target Practice,” “In the Blink of an Eye,” “Heart of Darkness,” “Love Story,” “Pearls,” “Opposite Teacher,” “Actress,” and “One Night.”

The announcement of their North American tour dates reveals an exciting schedule for fans. Kicking off on May 29 in Philadelphia, PA, at PhilaMOCA, the tour will continue through major cities including New York, NY (Mercury Lounge, May 30), Kingston, NY (Tubby’s, June 1), Amherst, MA (The Drake, June 2), Montreal, Quebec (La Sotterenea, June 3), Toronto, Ontario (The Monarch, June 5), Detroit, MI (Lager House, June 6), and concluding in Chicago, IL (Constellation, June 7). This series of performances will allow the band to introduce their fresh sound and artistic vision to a broad audience, fostering new connections and expanding their musical footprint.
