The Crunchyroll Anime Awards for 2026 have officially unveiled their comprehensive list of nominees, showcasing a diverse selection of animation that captivated audiences globally. The winners are slated to be announced at a grand ceremony on May 23, with a star-studded lineup of presenters including Asuka Saito, Danna, and RZA, underscoring the event’s growing prominence.

This milestone tenth edition of the awards features an expanded array of categories, acknowledging various facets of anime production and storytelling. From recognizing the best ongoing series and standout opening sequences to commending exceptional action scenes, the nominations span a broad spectrum. Key categories like ‘Anime of the Year’ include popular titles such as ‘Dan Da Dan’ Season 2, ‘My Hero Academia,’ and ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ Season 2. Similarly, the ‘Film of the Year’ category boasts impressive entries like ‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’ and ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,’ reflecting the vibrant and dynamic nature of contemporary anime cinema. Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll, highlighted the awards as a testament to the global passion for anime, emphasizing the collective effort of nearly 50 unique series and films, over 110 animation studios, and more than 220 voice actors who have contributed to the art form over the past decade.

The ceremony promises to be a spectacular event, featuring additional presenters like Enako, Hannah Bahng, and Kasumi Arimura, alongside musical tributes from artists such as Dean Fujioka and Porno Graffitti. Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, will inaugurate the event with opening remarks, while voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira will serve as hosts. Enthusiasts worldwide have the opportunity to cast their votes on the official Anime Awards website and Crunchyroll platforms, with voting closing on April 15.
