Cameron Frazer, a resident of Shrewsbury, has recently garnered attention for his remarkable achievement in the Manchester Marathon. Frazer, who is currently undergoing dialysis treatment, finished the grueling race in an impressive four hours and 29 minutes. This accomplishment is believed to be an unofficial world record for a marathon completed by an individual on dialysis, significantly surpassing the previous best time of five hours and 15 minutes. His inspiring journey, along with other members of the 'Dialysis Dashers' running group, has also led to a substantial fundraising effort, collecting more than £16,000 for Kidney Care UK.

Frazer's motivation stems from a desire to showcase what is achievable despite challenging health conditions. Diagnosed with vasculitis, a severe autoimmune disorder, the 36-year-old spent months in hospital before beginning dialysis and awaiting a kidney transplant. Despite these adversities, he remains committed to an active lifestyle, having been a runner prior to his diagnosis. Following his marathon success, Frazer is now looking towards conquering shorter distances, such as half-marathons, 10-kilometer, and five-kilometer races, humorously stating he'd draw the line at a 100-meter dash.

Frazer's story is a powerful testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome obstacles. His dedication not only redefines what is possible for individuals living with chronic conditions but also inspires a broader audience to pursue their goals with resilience. His efforts highlight the critical work of organizations like Kidney Care UK and encourage greater awareness and support for those facing similar health battles. Ultimately, Frazer's journey serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that with determination and a positive outlook, we can transform challenges into opportunities for extraordinary achievements and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

The 49ers aim to strengthen their pass rush, a key area of weakness last season, with Herbig's proven ability as a rotational player.
