Fox Broadcasting Company has officially commissioned a new animated series, "Stewie," a direct offshoot of the acclaimed show "Family Guy." The network has committed to a two-season run for the program, signaling a significant expansion within the "Family Guy" universe. This eagerly anticipated series is expected to make its debut during the 2027-2028 television season, with streaming rights secured for Hulu in the United States and Disney+ for international audiences.

The narrative of "Stewie" will follow the titular character after he is expelled from his initial preschool. He finds himself in a new educational environment that falls short of his expectations, populated by unfamiliar children and an elderly, opinionated class turtle. Initially discontent, Stewie soon leverages his inventive gadgets, transforming ordinary school days into fantastical escapades across time and space. Seth MacFarlane, the creative force behind "Family Guy," will not only lend his voice to Stewie but also take on an executive producer role through Fuzzy Door Productions. Kirker Butler, who co-created the series with MacFarlane, will serve as the showrunner and an executive producer, alongside Kara Vallow. This announcement follows closely on the heels of "Family Guy's" 24th season premiere and its impressive 450th episode milestone, which aired in February.

The upcoming "Stewie" series reflects a continuing commitment to innovative storytelling and the enduring appeal of its characters. This expansion offers new avenues for humor and adventure, building upon the established legacy of its predecessor. It is a testament to the power of imagination and the ability to find excitement and wonder even in mundane circumstances, encouraging viewers to embrace creativity and a sense of boundless possibility.
