Anthony Chen's "We Are All Strangers," which has already garnered positive attention at the Berlin International Film Festival, is the final installment of his acclaimed "Growing Up" trilogy. This drama delves into complex themes of kinship, self-discovery, and belonging, exploring connections that extend beyond conventional familial bonds. Starring Yeo Yann Yann and Koh Jia Ler, the film is poised to captivate audiences with its poignant narrative and strong performances.
Complementing the opening feature, Philip Yung's "Cyclone" will serve as the festival's closing film. Furthermore, the festival has appointed Taiwanese actress Gingle Wang and Thai actor Metawin Opasiamkajorn as Asian Visionary Ambassadors, recognizing their contributions to the cinematic landscape. These include three performances of "In the Mood for Love – In Concert," a unique collaboration with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra that will present Wong Kar-wai's iconic film with a newly arranged live score.
