Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is enhancing its roster with fresh content, as a new, free downloadable content package is slated for release this week. This update follows the recent introduction of the Monkey Ball character AiAi, continuing the game's commitment to regular character additions. The upcoming DLC promises to bring an exciting new dimension to the racing experience for players.

The highlight of this new content drop is the inclusion of Tangle & Whisper, a beloved duo originating from the IDW comic book series. These characters are not merely joining the race; their arrival is accompanied by a dedicated in-game festival. Scheduled to commence on February 26th and run until March 1st, this festival will offer unique opportunities for players. Notably, World Match will be temporarily unavailable during this celebratory period.

During the Tangle & Whisper Festival, players will benefit from an increased reward rate. In tribute to the Diamond Cutters duo, a 50% enhanced chance for the 2x Point Up reward will be active. This encourages players to team up with friends, forming squads with Tangle & Whisper to tackle the competition and maximize their gains during the event. This initiative aims to foster community engagement and celebrate the new characters' integration.

Furthermore, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds recently expanded its platform availability, launching on the Switch 2. Existing Switch console owners have the option to upgrade their game for a fee to experience the enhanced version on the new hardware. For those who prefer physical media, a boxed edition of the game for the Switch 2 is scheduled for release on March 26th, 2026. This physical copy will reportedly include the complete base game directly on the cartridge, offering a comprehensive package for new and returning players alike.

The continuous introduction of new characters and engaging in-game events underscores the ongoing development and support for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, aiming to keep the racing experience dynamic and enjoyable for its global player base.
