In an effort to enhance its historical property, the Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance is embarking on several projects. These include restoring the site's iconic bronze sculptures and preparing for the reinterment of 44 soldiers who perished in 1776. To aid these endeavors, a special chamber music evening will be held by the Lake George Music Festival. This event will channel a portion of its proceeds toward preserving and promoting the national landmark.
Revitalization Projects and Musical Fundraising
Set against the backdrop of the Fort William Henry Hotel’s Carriage House, the "Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance Night" will take place on June 17 at 7 p.m. This initiative forms part of the Festival’s new Community Partnership Program, with half of all single ticket sales supporting the preservation efforts. Patrons can look forward to an enchanting performance featuring compositions from Schubert, Florence Price, Rimsky-Korsakov, and guest composer Amy Beth Kirsten.
Lake George Music Festival President and CEO Alexander Lombard expressed excitement over the collaboration between two prominent local entities.
