The ensemble for this modern rendition includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen embodying Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson portraying Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake. The narrative centers on Shaggy and Daphne during their last summer at camp, as they become entangled in a chilling enigma concerning a lost Great Dane puppy that might have witnessed a supernatural crime. Joined by Velma and the enigmatic new kid, Freddy, they embark on a quest to solve the case, which threatens to unearth their deepest secrets.

Hauser brings a wealth of experience to the project, having previously appeared in Netflix's "Cobra Kai," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and "I Think You Should Leave." His acclaimed performance in Apple TV's "Black Bird" earned him both an Emmy and a Golden Globe. The series is spearheaded by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg as writers and showrunners, alongside a team of executive producers including André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, Adrienne Erickson, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman. Toby Haynes is slated to direct the inaugural episode, with Warner Bros. Television producing.
