The Seattle Mariners' key offensive players, Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, and Josh Naylor, are showing promising signs of improved performance, having found their stride during their recent homestand. This resurgence in hitting prowess is timely as the team gears up for an upcoming interleague series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite a challenging road record this season, the Mariners are hopeful that this newfound momentum will translate into success away from home.

Over their recent six-game homestand, the trio, who had previously struggled, collectively elevated their game. Raleigh, Rodriguez, and Naylor's bats began to produce consistently, marking a turning point after what some speculated to be lingering effects from the World Baseball Classic. This offensive uptick was crucial during the homestand, where the Mariners managed a .500 record against formidable American League West rivals, the Texas Rangers and the Athletics.

A notable highlight of their improved play occurred in a Wednesday game against the A's. With the score tied 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Cal Raleigh initiated a two-out rally with a single. Julio Rodriguez followed with another single, advancing Raleigh to second, who then scored the winning run on Josh Naylor's decisive line-drive single. Mariners manager Dan Wilson praised the trio's clutch performance, emphasizing their excellent at-bats under pressure.

Before this homestand, the Mariners' 2-4 hitters were facing difficulties. Raleigh's batting average was .169 with two home runs and 11 RBIs, Rodriguez was at .200 with one homer and six RBIs, and Naylor was hitting .118 with two homers and seven RBIs. However, during the six-game stretch, Raleigh impressively went 7-for-24 with three home runs and three RBIs, including a home run in each of the last three games. Rodriguez contributed with a 9-for-23 performance and two RBIs, while Naylor posted a strong 9-for-17 record with three RBIs.

As the Mariners embark on a six-game road trip, starting Friday in St. Louis, they aim to carry this positive momentum with them. Their away record currently stands at 1-8, including an eight-game losing streak where they have been outscored 33-19. Manager Dan Wilson expressed confidence that the team's recent home success would provide a much-needed boost on the road. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are returning home after a 4-2 road trip, with their manager Oliver Marmol strategically resting key players to prepare for the upcoming series.

The series opener on Friday will feature a pitching matchup between Mariners right-hander George Kirby (3-2, 2.97 ERA) and Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante (2-1, 4.05). Kirby has been in excellent form, securing victories in his last two starts, including a solid performance against Texas where he allowed just one run over 5 2/3 innings. Pallante also comes off a strong outing, giving up only one run in five innings in his last start. This will be Pallante's first career appearance against the Mariners.

The Seattle Mariners' offense, particularly the core trio of Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodriguez, and Josh Naylor, has shown significant signs of resurgence. Their improved hitting during the recent homestand provides a crucial lift as they face the St. Louis Cardinals. This renewed offensive power, coupled with strong pitching matchups, sets the stage for an intriguing interleague series, with the Mariners hoping to reverse their fortunes on the road.
