A recent hotel encounter involving pop star Chappell Roan, soccer player Jorginho's family, and a security professional has sparked considerable online discussion. The security guard at the center of the controversy, Pascal Duvier, has publicly addressed the situation, asserting his independence from Roan's team and clarifying his actions during the incident. This statement aims to shed light on the circumstances that led to public accusations and subsequent denials, emphasizing individual accountability while navigating the complexities of celebrity encounters and personal boundaries.

Security Professional Pascal Duvier Issues Statement on Hotel Incident Involving Chappell Roan and Jorginho's Family

In the quiet hours of March 26, 2026, a security professional identified as Pascal Duvier released a statement clarifying his role in a hotel incident that occurred on March 21. This incident had drawn considerable attention following accusations made by renowned soccer player Jorginho. Jorginho had taken to Instagram the previous Saturday, alleging that a security guard, purportedly belonging to pop sensation Chappell Roan, had reprimanded his wife and stepdaughter, Ada Law (daughter of actor Jude Law and Catherine Harding), during a breakfast encounter at a shared hotel in São Paulo. The family had reportedly approached Roan briefly, leading to the alleged confrontation.

Duvier, known for his work in personal protection, explicitly stated in his social media post, “I do not normally address online rumors, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation. I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan. The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.” He further explained that his actions were based on information received from the hotel, prior observations, and a perceived heightened security risk, asserting that his interaction with the mother was calm and well-intentioned, though he regretted the outcome.

Shortly after Jorginho's initial post, Chappell Roan herself addressed the situation via social media. She emphatically denied any knowledge of the confrontation or involvement of her personal security. Roan stated, “I didn’t even see a woman and a child, like no one came up to me, no one bothered me. I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. I did not ask this security guard to go up to talk to this mother and child, they did not come up to me, they weren’t doing anything.” She conveyed her sadness and apologies to the mother and child if they felt uncomfortable, stressing that they did not deserve such treatment.

Later on the same day, Catherine Harding, Jorginho's wife, posted a detailed Instagram video response. She expressed her surprise at the situation's escalation and maintained that the security guard was not a hotel employee. Harding remarked, "100 percent, this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel… I don’t know if he was [Roan’s] personal security guard, but he was with her. That is all I know." She also alleged that the guard had used intimidating language, telling her daughter that she was “badly educated.”

Adding another layer to Duvier's public profile, it was recalled that in 2018, his security company, Protect Security, was named in a $6.1 million lawsuit by Kim Kardashian's insurance company. This lawsuit, filed two years after Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, alleged negligence on the part of Duvier and his company in her protection. The lawsuit was eventually settled in 2020.

This incident underscores the challenges celebrities and their teams face in managing public perceptions and ensuring security while navigating personal interactions. The diverging accounts highlight the complexities of eyewitness testimonies and the rapid spread of information in the digital age. It serves as a stark reminder of the importance of clear communication and verified information, especially when high-profile individuals are involved, and the potential for misunderstandings to quickly escalate into public controversies.
