Uniting Sounds: A New Era for LAFC's Soundtrack
A Unique Collaboration Takes Center Stage
Only a team with the magnetic appeal of LAFC could unite such diverse musical forces as the acclaimed vocalist Sia and the legendary hip-hop group Cypress Hill. Their new anthem, 'Street x Street,' has just been unveiled, promising to electrify the Major League Soccer landscape.
The Driving Force Behind the Anthem's Message
The compelling rhythm of the track, meticulously crafted by DJ Flict, resonates with the unwavering bond between the LAFC team and its devoted supporters, affectionately known as the 3252. Cypress Hill's verses pay homage to this deep connection, while Sia's unmistakable voice amplifies the chorus with defiant declarations like, "There's no stopping us... You can't mess with us."
A Fresh Voice Joins a Familiar Partnership
While Cypress Hill has previously contributed to LAFC's musical catalog, this song marks the inaugural occasion for Sia, a known attendee at Los Angeles matches, to lend her voice to the club's anthem.
Artists Reflect on Their Collaborative Journey
"Working with Sia on 'Street X Street' was an entirely new experience for us, infusing a fresh dynamism into our sound," shared B-Real of Cypress Hill in a statement. "Her commanding voice elevated the song to new heights. Cypress Hill has always strived to innovate and explore new artistic avenues." He concluded, "This collaboration with Sia and DJ Flict to craft the latest LAFC anthem felt like a natural progression."
A Growing Legacy of LAFC Anthems
This new musical offering represents the sixth anthem for LAFC, with many of these productions spearheaded by DJ Flict. Previous fan favorites include "Do It For LA" by Kid Ink and B-Real in 2022, "Ciudad de Campeones" featuring B-Real, Mexican rapper Alemán, and Bobby Castro in 2023, and Castro's return later that year with O.T. Genesis for "Por La Cultura."
Embodying the Spirit of the Community
"LAFC represents a powerful movement in Los Angeles, and this anthem perfectly encapsulates the essence of our community," stated Rich Orosco, LAFC's Chief Brand Officer. "We built this club with dedication, step by step, and we are incredibly honored that such esteemed global artists believe in our community and have committed their talent and energy to creating music for our passionate fans."
