The Southern Illinois Music Festival commences with a series of exclusive events over the Memorial Day weekend. These include intimate chamber music soirées on May 23-24, where guests can enjoy fine drinks and hors d'oeuvres while listening to renowned violinists Michael Barta and Kiril Laskarov perform alongside the ensemble Some Strings Attached. As the festival progresses, it moves into broader venues such as Alto Vineyards, where an open-air "Opera Teasers" concert will take place on May 30 at 7 p.m.
