Tender Pictures, under the leadership of founders Abbi Jacobson and Mieka Tennant, has proudly introduced the new cohort for its Prelude fellowship program. This initiative, now in its second year, focuses on nurturing emerging talent in the entertainment industry, specifically supporting writers, directors, and producers who are at the beginning of their professional journeys and may have limited prior experience in the field. The program emphasizes talent discovery and fostering an equitable environment, providing a crucial stepping stone for diverse voices.
The 2026 class of fellows comprises ten promising individuals: Nadira Amaris, Kimberly Divad, Alyssa Furtado, Izzy Garfinkel, T Green, Vanessa Gutierrez, Noura Jabir, Sarah Ngô, Sage Okolo, and Haley Wang. This diverse group is exclusively made up of female-identifying and non-binary storytellers, carefully selected through a rigorous multi-stage review process by a committee of prominent industry figures. These fellows will benefit from an extensive network of mentors, including accomplished professionals such as Jess Brunetto, Emma Ho, Ali Liebegott, Mehar Sethi, Jessica Watson, Paul Welsh, and Kim Yutani, alongside returning mentors Michelle Badillo, Brian Chamberlayne, and Desta Tedros Reff.
The eight-month fellowship offers comprehensive in-person programming, invaluable mentorship, and exposure to both the artistic and business facets of the film and television sectors. Prelude is intentionally structured to provide a deep, immersive experience rather than broad outreach, promoting a creative environment rooted in exploration and innovation.
