Xzibit's Ex-Wife Initiates Legal Action Over Cannabis Brand

Krista Joiner, Xzibit's former spouse, has launched a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles, asserting that the rapper and former host of 'Pimp My Ride' violated a court order by selling their shared stake in the cannabis venture, Brass Knuckles. The legal action centers on the alleged unauthorized sale of three valuable trademarks associated with the brand, for which she claims no proceeds were distributed to her from the reported $724,000 transaction.

Their marital discord, which began with Joiner filing for divorce in February 2021 after a marriage spanning from 2014, has escalated into a complex legal dispute. Joiner's lawsuit details her significant contributions to Brass Knuckles' establishment in 2016, where she managed operations and secured trademarks while Xzibit served as the public face. She contends that Xzibit's actions were deliberate attempts to financially undermine her, especially as a separate state court trial approaches in April to determine the division of their assets.

The plaintiff further alleges that Xzibit has been uncooperative, blocking communication and neglecting their teenage son, all while enjoying lavish international trips. This comes despite his previous assurances of a more modest lifestyle post-divorce. The lawsuit paints a picture of a successful cannabis enterprise that quickly grew to a valuation of $65 million by 2017, generating significant sales, which the couple leveraged for luxury acquisitions before their separation following Xzibit's alleged infidelity.

This case underscores the intricate challenges of asset division in high-profile divorces, especially when businesses and intellectual property are involved. It highlights the importance of legal due process and mutual consent in financial dealings during separation to ensure equitable outcomes for all parties.
