CBS Media Ventures Unveils New Syndication Slate, Featuring 'Adam's Law' and 'Entertainment Tonight' Renewal
CBS Media Ventures has officially announced its comprehensive syndication roster for the upcoming 2026-2027 broadcast season, signaling a strong commitment to the syndication market. The new lineup introduces a variety of fresh content while securing the future of several beloved, long-running programs. This strategic move aims to solidify CBS Media Ventures' position in the competitive landscape of syndicated television, offering a diverse array of entertainment to its audience.
A significant highlight of the new slate is the introduction of "Adam's Law," a legal series that will feature Judge Adam Levy, son of the renowned Judge Judy Sheindlin. This particular announcement is noteworthy given Sheindlin's past contentious departure from CBS with her show "Judge Judy," and her subsequent venture into Amazon with a new series. Despite previous tensions, CBS Media Ventures continues to manage the distribution of "Judge Judy" reruns and produces "Hot Bench," a show Sheindlin created. The new collaboration with her son marks a notable development in their relationship with the network.
In addition to "Adam's Law," CBS Media Ventures is set to distribute another new series titled "American Mayhem," described as an energetic program showcasing extreme videos. This show is produced by V10 Entertainment, the same company behind ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos." Furthermore, CBS Media Ventures has successfully acquired the rights to distribute syndicated episodes of "America's Funniest Home Videos" from the Alfonso Ribeiro era, adding a well-known family-friendly option to its offerings.
The network also affirmed the continuity of several established hits. "Entertainment Tonight," the iconic entertainment news program, has been renewed for an impressive 46th season. This renewal comes at a time when its primary competitor, "Access Hollywood," has been discontinued by NBCUniversal, highlighting CBS's enduring presence in the entertainment news segment. "Entertainment Tonight" will continue with its popular hosts, Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner. Similarly, the daily newsmagazine "Inside Edition," anchored by Eva Pilgrim, will return for its 39th season.
The game show sector is also seeing renewals, with "Flip Side," hosted by Jaleel White, confirmed for its third season. "The Perfect Line," hosted by Deborah Norville, will also return for its second season. These renewals underscore the popularity and sustained viewership of game shows within the syndicated market. Moreover, "The Drew Barrymore Show," a daytime talk show, recently secured a two-season renewal, extending its run. Popular game shows "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune," produced by Sony and previously the subject of a legal dispute with CBS, will also continue to be distributed by CBS through the 2027-2028 television season, reflecting the resolution of past conflicts and the continued value of these franchises.
John Budkins, Executive Vice President of Programming and Syndication Production for CBS Media Ventures and Stations, emphasized the breadth and quality of the upcoming slate. He noted that the new programming, alongside the returning favorites, demonstrates the network's ongoing commitment to delivering premium original content to its station partners. Budkins proudly stated that CBS currently broadcasts seven of the top ten most-watched first-run syndicated titles, showcasing their success in providing engaging and proven entertainment to audiences.
