While Elizabeth Bennet traditionally captures hearts, a new series, "The Other Bennet Sister," shifts focus to Mary Bennet, portraying her in a more empathetic light than her original depiction as merely awkward and devoid of humor in the 1813 novel. This BritBox production aims to offer audiences a deeper understanding of Mary's inner life and aspirations.
The recently released trailer provides a glimpse into Mary's transformation. Viewers witness her defying her social-climbing mother, Mrs. Bennet (portrayed by Ruth Jones), by wearing spectacles to improve her vision, a seemingly small act with significant implications in her constrained world.
