In the heart of Silver Creek, a vibrant summer awaits with a series of captivating events designed to bring the community together. The Music in the Park concert series will feature seven evenings of live music from June through August, culminating with a performance by Ion Sky on August 19th. Alongside these musical performances, additional highlights include a classic car cruise night and First Responders Night. Furthermore, the village is set to host a public hearing regarding the creation of a joint fire district, as well as the construction of a new Victory Garden funded by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF). On golden evenings filled with melodies, Silver Creek residents and visitors are invited to enjoy an extensive lineup of concerts at the Village Ball Park. Kicking off on June 10th with Barnstorm, the schedule includes Midnight Recovery on June 24th, a fireworks display accompanied by the 2nd Time Around Band on July 3rd, Party McFly on July 8th, Crash Cadillac during Classic Cruise Night on July 22nd, Furious George on August 5th, and finally Ion Sky wrapping up the season on August 19th. Each event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., except for the July 3rd celebration, which moves to Borrello Park on Front Street.
Beyond the music, Silver Creek continues its tradition of honoring first responders. A special tribute will take place on June 24th when Midnight Recovery performs. Meanwhile, discussions about the proposed joint fire district between Sunset Bay and Silver Creek departments will occur during a public hearing scheduled for May 27th at 7 p.m. at Silver Creek Central School. Fire Chief Brandyn Griewisch reassured attendees at a recent board meeting that the consolidation would enhance resource-sharing without diminishing current services.
In another development, the village has secured $1,500 from NCCF to construct picnic areas within the emerging Victory Garden located at the old Revere Inn site. Deputy Mayor Kathy Tampio expressed her appreciation for the contribution, noting the positive impact it will have on the community. Additionally, the Mobile Food Pantry returns on May 27th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering free assistance to those in need at the municipal parking lot.
The Silver Creek Village Board’s next routine session will convene on Monday, May 19th, at 7 p.m. inside Village Hall.
