An eleven-year-old self-taught pianist from Norfolk has captured the attention of a prestigious London music institution. Harvey, who began his piano journey late last year, has demonstrated an extraordinary level of proficiency in a remarkably short period. Videos showcasing his skills have garnered significant online interest, prompting the Royal Academy of Music to invite him for a special induction day. This opportunity will allow Harvey to interact with professional musicians and further explore the potential of his burgeoning talent.

Harvey, hailing from Stoke Ferry near Downham Market, discovered a profound satisfaction in learning music, which motivated him to pursue piano playing. His mother, Jen, posted videos of his performances online, which quickly amassed thousands of views. Harvey has also performed at a care home where his mother works and on public pianos located at railway stations. The applause he receives from audiences brings him immense joy, affirming the acceptance of his performances.

Jen humorously noted that Harvey's musical prowess was not inherited from her, as her own musical abilities are limited. She explained that Harvey learned to play by watching YouTube tutorials and dedicating numerous hours each day to practice. Despite his initial interest in computers and design, Harvey's unexpected pivot to music has delighted his family, who are eager to understand how this talent might shape his future.

Recently, Harvey commenced formal lessons at The Norfolk Academy of Music under the tutelage of Bekki Smith. Ms. Smith expressed astonishment at Harvey's advanced capabilities, noting that he plays at the top Grade Eight level after only a few months of playing. She praised his remarkable dexterity for his age and emphasized the importance of practice in achieving such progress. Unlike many students who struggle to find time for practice, Harvey dedicates at least two hours daily to honing his craft, demonstrating an exceptional commitment to learning.

The support from his teacher and the opportunities provided by the Royal Academy of Music could significantly influence Harvey's musical journey. With dedication and guidance, this young prodigy may well carve out an impressive path in the world of classical music, inspiring others with his passion and skill.

Hip-hop pioneers Salt-N-Pepa are battling Universal Music Group (UMG) in a lawsuit to reclaim the rights to their music catalog. Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton argue that UMG is unlawfully withholding their master recordings, violating the Copyright Act of 1976. This law allows artists to terminate past agreements and regain ownership after several decades. The duo seeks ownership of tracks from albums like their 1986 debut *Hot, Cool & Vicious* and 1993's *Very Necessary*. Despite filing for termination in 2022, UMG has resisted, claiming the recordings were "works made for hire." The plaintiffs demand damages and a permanent injunction affirming their ownership. UMG has yet to comment officially.
